Hi! I'm glad you're here. I'm Katherine and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas who supports children, teens, and adults that may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply trying to better understand themselves and what they’re carrying. You may know exactly what kind of support you need, or you may simply know that something just doesn’t quite feel right. Either way, you don’t have to have the perfect words for it before pursuing therapy.
I meet each person where they are, without judgment, and shape therapy around what feels most supportive for them. That might mean making sense of patterns, learning how to move through difficult emotions, noticing what your body is communicating, exploring different parts of yourself, or using creativity when words don’t quite get there.
With children, I use play, creativity, and movement to help them express what they may not yet have words for, build emotional awareness, and work through challenges in ways that make sense for their age. With teens and adults, we may explore how past experiences and relationships are affecting you now, create space to better understand the ways you’ve learned to survive, build emotional regulation tools, and strengthen your connection and trust with yourself.
I pay special attention to how difficult past experiences can continue to show up in the way we feel, respond, connect, and move throughout our worlds. Understanding those patterns can help make sense of reactions that may otherwise feel confusing or frustrating. I’m currently pursuing additional trauma-focused training and am excited to continue advancing this central piece of my practice!
Outside of the office, I enjoy thrifting things I don't need, drinking too much iced coffee, fixating on various creative hobbies, and spending time with the people I love. I’m also usually not far from Zoë, my sweet sunshine pup, who is almost always close by keeping me company.
A chrysalis represents what happens before something new is ready to emerge. It is enclosed, unseen, and full of movement beneath the surface. What once felt familiar begins to shift while something new takes shape.
Healing is not always visible from the outside. It can be uncomfortable, messy, and deeply internal, and therapy can offer a space to feel supported and grounded through that experience. For those carrying the effects of trauma, loss, anxiety, or other difficult experiences, growth may involve understanding the ways the mind and body learned to survive, creating a felt sense of safety, and gently loosening patterns that may no longer serve you.
Like the chrysalis, there can be uncertainty about what comes next or who we'll become, while still remaining open to something new taking shape.
The imagery throughout the Chrysalis Counseling & Wellness logo reflects growth, hope, presence, and connection. Together, they reflect the possibility that what you have lived through can shape you without having to define you.
